Dr. Jun-Beom Park (Department of Periodontology, Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital) attended the International Congress of Oral Implantologists(ICOI) World Congress, held in Sydney, Australia, from September 11 to 13, 2025.

He participated in the Tabletop and Poster Presentation with the topic “The application of stem cell spheroids combined with growth factor in bone regeneration” and was awarded First Prize.

Stem cells have gained considerable attention in the field of tissue engineering due to their regenerative potential. Three-dimensional stem cell spheroids offer advantages over conventional two-dimensional cultures by providing a more physiologically relevant microenvironment. In this study, stem cell spheroids were successfully fabricated and maintained their structural integrity throughout the experimental period. Cell viability remained throughout the teste time, indicating the suitability of the spheroid for prolonged culture. The combination of spheroids with growth factors resulted in a significant enhancement of osteogenic differentiation, as demonstrated by increased expression of osteogenic differentiation-related genes. These findings suggest that stem cell spheroids combined with growth factors represent a promising strategy for promoting bone regeneration and may offer a novel approach for future clinical applications in regenerative medicine.
