The Korean Academy of Implant Dentistry (KAID) has taken a significant step toward strengthening international academic cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) of Indonesia for collaborative implant education.

The signing ceremony was held on April 30, 2026, at Seoul National University Dental Hospital, with representatives from both institutions in attendance, marking a new chapter in dental implant education cooperation between Korea and Indonesia.

Through this MOU, both institutions have established a formal framework for academic exchange, joint research, and collaborative educational programs in the field of implant dentistry. Building on this agreement, the two parties are committed to elevating the standards of implant education and further promoting the exchange of clinical knowledge and expertise between dental professionals of both countries.

The ceremony was attended by KAID President Soung Min Kim and Dean Irfan Sugianto of the Faculty of Dentistry at UNHAS, both of whom reaffirmed their institutions’ strong commitment to this partnership.

President Sound Min Kim remarked, “This MOU reflects our academy’s commitment to sharing knowledge and advancing implant dentistry on a global scale. We look forward to building a meaningful and lasting relationship with UNHAS.”

Dean Irfan Sugianto also emphasized the significance of this agreement for dental education in Indonesia. With this partnership now in place, a wide range of collaborative initiatives are set to move forward, including personnel exchanges, joint symposia, and shared clinical training programs. The agreement is also expected to provide fresh momentum to the KAID’s ongoing efforts to expand its global academic network.
