Advancing Education, Clinical Excellence, and Academic Exchange in Implant Dentistry

The Korean Academy of Implant Dentistry (KAID), under the leadership of President Soung Min Kim, has formalized a strategic partnership with Straumann Korea, a subsidiary of the global Straumann Group, through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on August 20 at Straumann Korea’s headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul.
This agreement establishes a robust framework for collaboration in education, clinical training, and academic exchange in the field of implant dentistry. The partnership encompasses the continuous development of structured educational programs, joint participation in national and international scientific congresses, collaborative research initiatives, and coordinated promotional activities.
Through this partnership, KAID and Straumann Korea will expand cooperation in academic events and educational programs, thereby contributing to the enhancement of dental professionals’ competencies and the overall quality of clinical education. KAID will also actively support Straumann’s academic initiatives and collaborate on joint promotions through digital platforms.
At the signing ceremony, President Soung-Min Kim emphasized, “Through our partnership with Straumann, KAID is positioned to provide our members with enriched and advanced academic resources. We remain committed to expanding this educational collaboration to foster excellence and innovation in clinical implant practice.”
Julie Pyo, CEO of Straumann Korea, added, “This agreement represents a significant milestone in raising the standard of implant education in Korea. It will also accelerate the adoption of digital treatment workflows and other innovative clinical solutions. By leveraging the complementary strengths of both institutions, we will contribute meaningfully to the sustainable advancement of dentistry in Korea and beyond.”
The MOU ceremony was attended by senior KAID representatives, including Yohan Lim (Advisory Board), Daewon Haam (Scientific Committee), and Vice Presidents Jeong-Kui Ku, Jun-Beom Park, Mi Hyun Seo, Jong Il Yun, and Jeong Joon Han. Through this agreement, KAID reaffirms its commitment to fostering active academic–industry collaboration, expanding member-centered academic activities, and strengthening international exchange.
