-KAID Holds Its First Academic Seminar of 2026 on February 21

The Korean Academy of Implant Dentistry (KAID), led by President Soung Min Kim, held its first academic seminar of the year on February 21 at the International Conference Hall of Seoul National University College Medicine. Held under the slogan, “The present and future of periodontal and implant treatment: AI, GBR and soft tissue”, the seminar was organized to share the latest knowledge and perspectives in the fields of periodontology and implant dentistry, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence (AI), guided bone regeneration (GBR), and soft tissue management. The scientific program featured lectures by leading clinicians and researchers in each field, offering participants a broad range of valuable clinical insights. During the seminar, Professor In-Kyung Hwang (Kangwon National University Dental Hospital) presented on “Advances in Artificial Intelligence in Periodontal Clinical Practice and Research,” Dr. Yong-Soo Kim (Boston Dental Clinic) spoke on “Gingival Grafting for Implants,” and Dr. Seung-Geun Lee (Gongneung Seoul Dental Clinic) delivered a lecture entitled “Strategies for Effective Space Maintenance in GBR Surgery.” Professor Jun-Beom Park (Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital), Vice Chair of the Periodontology Division of KAID and the organizer of the seminar, commented, “This academic seminar served as a constructive forum for discussing the latest research in each field as well as practical approaches for clinical application.”
