Announcement of Candidates for the 52nd Korean Dental Association Grand Prize (Academic Award)

The Korean Dental Association invites recommendations for candidates for the 52nd Korean Dental Association Grand Prize (Academic Award) as outlined below.

1. Number of Awardees

One (1) person.

2. Eligibility

Candidates must be members of the Korean Dental Association who are at least 55 years of age (born on or before December 31, 1970), have fulfilled all obligations under Article 9 of the Association’s Articles of Incorporation, and meet at least one of the criteria below.

1. A dental researcher who is currently or was formerly affiliated with a dental educational institution, a dental general hospital, or a dental-related research institute, and who has excellent research achievements.
2. A person who has experience in publishing research papers in international academic journals (SCI level).
3. A person who has experience in oral presentations at international academic conferences.
4. A private practitioner (clinic owner) with outstanding research achievements.

3. Recommending Bodies

Each branch president and each affiliated academic society president may recommend one (1) candidate.

4. Required Documents

1. Official letter of recommendation from the recommending body.
2. One recommendation letter (to be written directly by the branch president or the society president).
3. List of academic achievements (refer to Attachment 1).
4. Supporting materials for academic achievements (to be saved in five USB drives, covering the period from January 2016 to December 2025):
   • Papers published in domestic and international peer-reviewed journals – PDF files.
   • Records of academic activities and presentations at domestic and international conferences – presentation files (PPT or PDF) or abstracts in PDF format.
   • Books in the candidate’s specialty – PDF files of the cover and pages showing the author’s name.
   • Other documentary evidence necessary for evaluation of merits.
5. One copy of curriculum vitae (CV).
6. One certificate of full payment of membership dues (issuable by the relevant local branch).
7. One digital ID photograph file.

5. Screening Body and Method

The awardee will be selected by the Special Committee for Merit Review, composed of judges appointed by the President of the Association.

6. Award Details

A plaque and a cash prize.

7. Application Deadline

By 17:00, Friday, January 23, 2026. Only applications submitted in person or received by registered mail by the deadline will be accepted.
